FUN STAFF FACTS
Dr. Leslie co-founded an University of Illinois student group focused on equine rescue and rehabilitation. During undergraduate he worked at horse farm and drives a tractor really well!
Dr. Leslie is from the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago and attended nearby Marist high school before heading down to the University of Illinois for college. Dr. Leslie has had a passion for animals and service since childhood when he maintained a thick book of neighborhood dog-walking clients. Growing up he had a cat—Bandit—and dog—Rufus—of his own.
Dr. Leslie attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for both his undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Animal Sciences and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Along the way he also completed an NIH cancer nanotechnology fellowship and earned his doctorate (PhD) in Pathobiology. He is currently finishing his Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Leslie also works for the Illinois Department of Public Health as a zoonotic disease epidemiologist.
Dr. Leslie began working for LePar Animal Hospital during his undergraduate college years in the spring of 2008. During those years he would dream of someday joining the staff as a doctor and was thrilled to be able to do so following his vet school graduation in 2018. Dr. Leslie values building long term relationships with his clients and being their trusted family advisor.
When he is not working, Dr. Leslie enjoys travel, live music, and exploring Chicago’s best restaurants. He lives with his wife Libby in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago
