Anna Mitchell, DVM, was born and raised in Mississippi. Her animal background originally began in the animal rescue space before transitioning over to the world of veterinary medicine, which sparked her passion for helping others through caring for their pets.
In undergrad, she attended Mississippi State University and majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She also earned her DVM from Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she had many opportunities to explore her special interest in supporting the next generation of veterinarians through community outreach. During her time in vet school, she worked extensively with the Starkville Boys and Girls Club, and she served as the Director of Vet Camp, which is a summer camp for kids to gain exposure to the many sides of veterinary medicine. She also served as the National President of the Veterinary Business Management Association, an organization designed to introduce vet students to the “real-world” side of veterinary medicine and encourage private ownership.
She strongly believes in partnering with pet owners to create practical, individualized care plans, and she is committed to making veterinary visits as stress-free as possible. Her veterinary medical interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, senior pet care, and feline behavior.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time snuggled up with her two feline trouble-makers, Mowgli and Squirrel. She recharges her battery through attending music festivals, hosting dinner parties with friends, or curling up with a new adventure or mystery novel.
