Abby Price, DVM, grew up in rural northern Ohio, and her love for animals began at a young age. She spent time feeding the horses in the field behind her childhood house and caring for the local barn cats. Pairing a love for science and animals, she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. In high school, she was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H and began to shadow local veterinarians which solidified that this was right career choice for her.
Throughout her undergraduate studies, Abby worked as a veterinary assistant for small and large animals and volunteered with wildlife sanctuaries to gain experience for vet school. She also worked as a resident assistant and learning assistant, while volunteering through her service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega.
During her time in veterinary school, she was involved in leadership positions for the Student AVMA and veterinary fraternity, Omega Tau Sigma, and worked in the clinical skills learning center. She also gained additional hands-on experience and found her veterinary interests though the surgery and feline clubs.
During appointments, she values educating pet owners on preventative medicine, stress-free vet visits, and finding the best treatment plan tailored for each family. Her veterinary medical interests include soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography, cytology, dentistry, and feline medicine.
When she’s not caring for other pets, Abby spends time with her three cats and the never-ending entertainment they provide. She enjoys yoga, reading, hiking, collecting vinyl records, and playing video/ boardgames.
